Well, I figured this out myself a while back when installing optifine and the forge for pixelmon.
But good guide anyways.

I use 1.7.2 and it seems to work just fine. Any comments on that?

 

1.7.5 and 1.7.2 are essentially the same thing.
The 1.7.5 update was for Realms, it did not change anything in game.
1.7.8 pushed out an update for name changing, our plugins aren't coded for name changing yet.

 

Very good guide putty, hopefully new minecraft users can follow the instructions.

 

It's easy anyone can do it 'm glad minecraft put the downgrade version in their launcher

I didnt realize there was 1.7.8 becoise im playing 1.7.5 all time for optifine
